Grants from a variety of funding sources have enabled us to increase the scope and variety of
services to parents. With guidance from the Parent Services Project coordinator, families
determine their own needs and interests out of which evolve a range of services and activities
that build on family strengths and enhance their well-being.
Some of the activities include frequent Pot Luck Plus events, a
cooperative garden, workshops, classes and support groups, family recreation activities,
respite assistance to families, dinners-to-go and more.
The parent leadership committee, Parents In Action, is composed of parents
representing the Center’s four programs. The committee meets monthly to plan activities
for Center families, some of which include fundraising activities.
Another aspect of the Parent Services Project is the Male Involvement Program, a special
outreach service to fathers and other significant men to assist them in becoming more
involved with their children. Some of these activities include a monthly men’s breakfast,
fix-up days, parent/staff conferences and fundraising events.
