Fairfax - San Anselmo Children's Center

Children’s Center

The Children’s Center program provides care for 34 children between the ages of 2.9 and 5 years in an environment which emphasizes opportunities for creativity, sensory-motor activities, social development and individual exploration. We have created learning centers in art, science and nature, block building, language and dramatic play, small-muscle manipulative play and large muscle development.

Our staff are resourceful, caring adults who realize that they are also role models for these growing children. We share a commitment to help children learn to resolve problems rather than impose adult solutions.

We involve the children whenever possible in the selection and planning of activities which are usually based on a curriculum theme and may include trips, hikes, resource teachers and special projects.

We are committed to presenting curriculum activities which represent a diversity of ethnic, racial and cultural groups.

Our family-style meals and snacks are designed to foster healthy behavior and attitudes about foods and eating.
