After After School

After After School

The After After School program for 34 second, third and fourth graders is open daily after regular school hours and full time during school holidays and summer vacation. Because these children are the oldest in the program, we offer adult supervision that is nurturing and respectful but somewhat less intrusive.

Children of this age engage in activities which are more complex, longer in duration, more challenging and which require more knowledge and skill. Some of these activities are team and individual sports, hiking, overnight camping, creative writing, art and drama, gymnastics, puppetry, a computer club and cooking projects. The children also become involved in a variety of community activities, such as caroling, bake sales, holiday fairs, flea markets, volunteer programs and community clean-up projects.

One goal if this program is to encourage a greater involvement with the democratic process including the development of leadership, group interaction and self-discipline.

We nurture the development of meaningful friendships with peers and with adults.

Triple A’s

A new summer program for children entering fourth grade opened in the summer of 1990. This group of 8 to 10 children have a special curriculum to enhance their skill level and knowledge.
